They are fast,
They are fierce and
They are on my plate.
It's the infamous lead character in the movie 'Jaws'.
Its the shark(ok...not the Great White, but still a shark).

I should say that my previous dishes,Crispy Salmon/Toman served with potato, while the fish looked ok, the potato was a bit of a mess.
so now, back to the good old spaghetti.

And who says that the fish has to be on the outside, may i present, Koi's Fish Sandwich....claps,cheers..

ok...st.john island cr...i caught nth except some pesky little brown groupers.
my dad caught a couple of good sized parrot fishes.

moving on..
again and again, I've been disappointed by fish n chips, grilled fish sold outside, especially Aston's NUS branch. Here's my word of advice, stick to selling steak, DO NOT sell any fish unless you are bringing in quality fish. Get rid of all the cheapo fish fillets.

some say theres this place called MadJack selling aussie fish n chips.
i went to their Clementi branch called PK express
which was rubbish. the batter was thick and oily. The uncle selling it was quarreling with his wife and the portions served varies every second.
people like this should quit their jobs and go drown themselves.

Salmon too expensive? I found a nice alternative.

Toman, AKA Snakehead
its a freshwater fish commonly used in XO sliced fish/fish head beehoon.
this fish's got a unique flavour, firm but smooth meat and without the muddy taste common in freshwater fishes.
now i just need to know how to remove the bones from the fillet, just can't seem to pull them out.

crispy salmon, served with rosti

Friday, February 22, 2008

right, usually after exams i will whip up something nice for myself.
since it's a fish dish,I'll post it here, Koi-Fishing

Koi's 1st time preparing salmon.

pan fried Norwegian salmon fillet served with sauteed shitake mushrooms and fresh tomatos.

so heres Koi's Fish tip-- when choosing "fatty" fish like salmon or tuna, go for the belly where all the fats are. AND, no need to feel guilty after eating it fish oils are rich in omega 3 which is good for u. the taste is owning, go find out urself.
